Erdogan, Sellal put Bethioua steel plant into service TURKISH PRIME MINISTER RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN ON VISIT TO ALGERIA




 ORAN (Algeria)- Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal have Wednesday in Bethioua (60 km east of Oran), put into service the new electric steel plant, built by Turkish company " TOSYALI Iron and Steel Ind. Co”

The two delegations inspected the production chain and listened to the explanations provided about the steel production process.

The Algerian and Turkish flags have been symbolically placed on the first quantity of steel produced by this 1.2 million ton per year capacity complex.

This industrial unit having required investment worth DZD26.5 billion, is specializing in steel production from iron waste. The product is destined to different industrial and building sectors.

The complex, a large operation of Turkish investment abroad, according to embassy to Algiers, represents a model of bilateral economic cooperation.

This steel plant, put into use by the two prime ministers, is an important investment adapted to development dynamics the west region is experiencing, likewise the other regions of the country notably in the important housing programme requiting building materials, including reinforced concrete.

Built on an area of 260,000 m², the plant generates more than 1,000 jobs, while the number of indirect jobs to be created is 3,500, according to the forecasts of the plant management.
