Rahmani reaffirms in Paris the government willingness to improve business climate in Algeria

PARIS (France) – Minister of Industry, SMEs and Investment Promotion Chérif Rahmani reaffirmed Tuesday in Paris Algeria commitment to improve business climate for both national and foreign investors.

’’We are convinced that the successful countries are those which improved their business climate. It’s as important as the improvement of facilities,’’ he said at the opening of a meeting on partnership with Algeria held in Ubifrance headquarters.

Rahmani underlined the need for privileging long-term investment. ’’The free act of investing is a challenge for future, based on anticipation and urges for certainty and security,’’ he noted.

French minister for External Trade Nicole Bricq, and Jean-Pierre Raffarin, Vice- president of the Senate, former prime minister and special representative of French President for the economic relations between Algeria and France, take part in this meeting.

Algeria, the minister added is ’’determined to guarantee the visibility and the institutional consideration to all investors without discrimination.’’

’’Our commitment concerns the institutional, legal and regulatory stability and doesn’t make discrimination between the public and the private sector,’’ he declared while noting that the government works to create a favorable investment and business climate.

The Algerian minister recalled the installation, last 10 March, of a national committee for business climate improvement, which is associated with the World Bank.
