Algerian-Finnish company CMA-Sampo to step up production to 1,000 combine harvesters per year

ALGIERS- Algerian-Finnish company for combine harvester manufacturing (CMA-Sampo) in Sidi Bel Abbes (440-west of Algiers) is to increase its production capacity to 1,000 machines/year, Minister of Industry, SME and Investment Promotion Cherif Rahmani said Monday.

Created in 2010, CMA-Sampo will be a center for agricultural machinery in the province of Sidi Bel Abbes, not far from the area where the Renault car plant is to be set up, namely Oued Tlelat, Oran (432-km west of Algiers), the minister told a news conference.

CMA-Sampo is owned by the company Construction Agricultural Equipment (CMA) and the national firm for agricultural equipment manufacturing PMAT (62%) and Finnish partners (38%).

The increase in production capacity of CMA-Sampo is aimed at meeting the needs of the domestic agricultural sector, before starting exportation on the medium term.
