CONSTANTINE – The creation of a pharmaceutical cluster in Constantine (431-km east of Algiers) is currently under consideration, said Tuesday Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesslam Bouchouareb.
"The State has already developed a mechanical engineering cluster in Constantine and another specialized in chemical industry in Oran (432-km west of Algiers), and the main objective today is the creation of a drug industry cluster in the city of bridges," said the minister, who is on a working visit to the eastern province.
Constantine has become "a pharmaceutical hub, hence the need to further develop this industry through the creation of a cluster," he added.
"The Government aims at reducing import bill and to move gradually to export," said Bouchouareb.
The minister started his working visit to Constantine by inaugurating a glue cement plant in the industrial park of Tarf, in the commune of Ibn Badis.
In the afternoon, Bouchouareb will chair a meeting with economic investors and operators of the province.
