Need to hold Algerian-African economic forum by end 2015

ALGIERS- Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesselam Bouchouareb underlined Monday the need to create all the necessary conditions for the holding of the first Algerian-African economic forum by the end of 2015.

Speaking at an Algerian-Beninese economic meeting on the occasion of the state visit of Benin's President Thomas Boni Yayi to Algeria, Bouchouareb said that the forum, announced recently by Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal, will help strengthening economic relations between Algeria and the African continent.

The economic meeting will open new prospects for the companies of the two countries," said the Minister, adding that "it shows the willingness to move forward in the regional and continental integration."

"It is a strong signal likely to enhance the economic relations between Algeria and Benin up to a level commensurate with its excellent political relations between the two countries," he said, adding that the new dynamics would benefit companies of both countries, which have real potential to launch huge mutually beneficial partnership projects.

In this regard, Bouchouareb said the two countries seek to boost their economic cooperation in the sectors of food-processing, pharmaceutical industry, energy, petrochemical industry, infrastructures and services.

The minister also underlined the willingness of Algerian government to further strengthen economic and trade partnership with Benin.
