President Boni Yayi highlights opportunities offered to Algerian investors in Benin

ALGIERS- Beninese President Thomas Boni Yayi underlined Monday in Algiers the investment opportunities offered to the Algerian economic operators in Benin, notably the private ones.

"The investment opportunities exist. There are huge investment opportunities in Benin. The Algerian investors are welcome," said President Boni Yayi during an Algeria-Benin economic forum, held as part of his state visit to Algeria.

He stressed that Algeria is an "economic power" and a country that "remains committed to the economic integration of the African continent," noting the need to strengthen South-South cooperation.

Boni Yayi was convinced that Algeria- Benin Economic Forum is "a prelude to a new era of strategic partnership between the two countries beyond the official and political relations that bind" stressing, in this regard, the importance of launching a partnership between the private sectors of various fields of development in Benin.

Benin's President has mentioned the fields of construction, tourism, health, education, energy, agriculture and infrastructure, areas in which Benin has launched a series of reforms, he said, noting the commitment of his country to ensure the security of business and investment.

In the same context, he discussed efforts in Benin to fight against corruption and the introduction of transparency in the business environment and company, recalling that his country is making every effort to ensure its financial and macroeconomic stability and to associate with any program aimed at the economic development of Africa.
