Algeria-Germany Joint Commission: April meeting to discuss partnerships projects

ALGIERS- The next meeting of the Algerian-German Joint Commission, to be held next April in Berlin, will examine several partnership projects, mainly in the industrial field, Minister of Industry and Mining Abdeslam Bouchouareb said Sunday.

During the next joint commission meeting, in April, Algeria will propose a number of projects to German companies, according to Bouchouareb, who co-chaired, with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier, an economic meeting bringing together the business managers of both countries.

The projects will be undertaken in partnership with Algerian public and private firms, according to the minister, who underlined that "the authorities will spare no effort to provide assistance and support to those projects."

Dubbing "strategic" the partnership with Germany, Bouchouareb stressed the need to introduce a new approach in Algerian-German partnership.

The partnership is to be based on innovation with a large number of projects in "priority" sectors under the government's development plan.

The German official urged companies in both countries to establish "lasting and diversified" partnerships based on technology transfer.
