Mr. AMARA BENYOUNES Minister of Industrial Development and Investment Promotion

Mr. Amara BENYOUNES was appointed Minister of Industrial Development and Investment Promotion since September 12, 2013, when the recent reshuffle of the Government led by Mr Abdelmalek SELLAL.

Mr. Amara Benyounes was respectively Minister of Health and Population, Public Works and the Regional Planning, the environment and the city.

Upon his installation, the Minister called on the economic operators a "permanent dialogue" to sustainably boost the domestic industry and reduce dependence on hydrocarbon economy while emphasizing the urgent need to develop to a "real political development" and give the domestic industry'' the place it enjoys.''

He argues that there is no alternative but to develop the industrial sector and develop our economy. He believed that the Algerian company, whether public or private, "must be at the heart of the economy", saying his deep conviction that the public-private partnership is one of the keys to successful. " there is a consensus on the need to give priority to the Algerian company," he added.

Reiterating the "real willingness" of the government to give a new impetus to the domestic industry and promote domestic production, the minister called on public companies no longer rely on the state, but their competitiveness.

The economic operators are invited to reflect and to identify actions to be taken to improve domestic production, a process in which the government "firmly committed", he has said.

To facilitate the investment process and encourage entrepreneurship, the Minister welcomed the idea of establishing a public investment bank, and insisted that the presentation of proposals to solve the thorny problem of industrial land in Algeria.

Mr. Benyounes also emphasized the government's commitment to clean up the economic environment of the business, improve the business climate and finally streamline administrative procedures to encourage the freedom of enterprise.
